Suryasutra Dance Company is a contemporary-classical dance group featuring prominent classical exponents and teachers based in Phoenix (often referred to as The Valley of the Sun): Almagul Temirtekova (Kathak), Nita Mallya (Bharatanatyam), Padma Aking (Kuchipudi), Radhika Kotwal (Kathak), Rajul Shah (Odissi) & Shreelina Ghosh (Odissi).
In Sanskrit, Sūrya means "the Sun". Sūtra means "a collection of such aphorisms". Literally it means "a thread that holds things together".
